Banks pay differently for size. For deposits ≥ ₹3 crore the rate depends on the bank's current funding need — sometimes higher than retail (when they want size), sometimes lower (when they have plenty of liquidity). The published rate is also typically a floor, not a ceiling: large amounts are often negotiable for an additional 10–30 bps.
